Work Experience Programme

Typical Course Content

The Work Experience Programme is designed for students who want to develop their language skills and then go on to gain experience of working in a local company.

There are two ways to follow our work experience programme:

1. study on the General English Course followed by a work placement:

a. at least 4 weeks of language study on our General English Course

b. work placement with a local company carefully selected to meet, as closely as possible, your requirements

2. sandwiched in the middle of a Study Year Programme:

a. study a minimum of 24 weeks in total on our Study Year Programme

b. start with language study, do your work placement, then finish your language studies with, for example, an examination preparation course

Working in a local company allows you to:

  • put the language skills you have leraned into practice
  • experience British business culture
  • gain valuable experience to help you with your career

Stages, our partner organisation, have many years' experience placing students in local companies.

We can arrange placements in the following areas:

  • IT
  • Administration
  • Customer Service
  • Marketing
  • Web Design
  • Finance
  • Travel & Tourism
  • Multimedia

Work placements can be from 4 to 24 weeks and are unpaid. You must be a minimum of 18 years old and have an intermediate level of English.

Work Experience is not accredited by the British Council.
